19 May 2005 President Bush To Attend G8 Summit in Scotland
The White House announced May 19 that President Bush will attend the summit of the Group of Eight (G8) major industrial democracies July 6-8 in Gleneagles, Scotland. The G8 comprises Canada, France, Italy, German, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and Russia. Following is the White House statement:

The White House Office of the Press Secretary May 19, 2005 Statement by the Deputy Press Secretary PRESIDENT BUSH TO ATTEND 2005 GROUP OF EIGHT (G-8) SUMMIT President Bush will travel to the United Kingdom to attend the G-8 Summit in Gleneagles, Scotland on July 6-8. The G-8 Summits bring together leaders of the world's major industrial democracies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The European Union is also represented at the G-8 Summits. At previous G-8 Summits, leaders have discussed a wide range of international economic, political, and security issues.
