How to contact us

Federal Benefits is open to the public from 9:30 am until 1pm Monday - Wednesday and on Friday, except American and British public holidays.

You can find many answers to your questions by visiting one of the many websites listed on this page. If you do not find your answer, please contact us before coming to the Embassy. To contact us, you may:

Visit

Individuals wishing to visit the Federal Benefits Unit should follow the signs for “Social Security” after being processed through the Embassy’s Security Checkpoint

U.S. passport holders will have to show their passports to security in order to enter the Embassy. Individuals without a US passport must bring picture I.D. Upon entering the reception area, please go directly to Counter 13 for assistance.

Important Security Notice
Mobiles and other electronic devices (including iPods, Blackberries and PDAs) are not allowed within the Embassy. Also please do not bring in large bags, suitcases or packages.

Filing for Social Security retirement, survivors, disability and Medicare benefits. Please contact us for an appointment.

Assistance with continuing benefits from the Social Security Administation, Veterans Administration, Railroad Retirement Board, Department of Labor and Office of Personnel Management such as reporting deaths, changes of address, missing payments, V.A. burial flags, etc.

Information about the U.S. Social Security coverage while working in the UK

Information about the U.S.-UK Social Security Agreement and combining credit under both systems.

Direct deposit of federal benefits.

To file for VA benefits, please go to the V.A. website listed on the right and follow the instructions on how to apply for compensation and pension benefits.

If you need to locate your missing social security number, you must appear in person with proper identification. If this is not possible, contact us for special instructions. SSA now follows this procedure in response to growing concerns about identity theft.
