General Practitioners (Doctors)

This list is provided as a service to the public and does not constitute a recommendation by the U.S. Embassy. The Embassy cannot accept any responsibility for the professional ability or integrity of the persons whose names appear below. Fees are entirely a matter for agreement between the individual and the practitioner. This is not intended to be a complete list. A list of general practitioners in your area can be obtained from your local post office, library, Thompson telephone directory, and by NHS Direct: at 0845-4647. It is important to telephone the doctor's office (surgery) for an appointment.

American citizens are reminded that medical treatment cannot be provided free of charge to visitors to the United Kingdom. Visitors to the United Kingdom do not qualify for treatment under the National Health Service.
