28 August 2008 Notice About Zoom Airlines
Zoom Airlines, a joint Canadian/British company, ceased operations on Thursday, August 28, 2008. The airline operated direct services from the UK to San Diego and Fort Lauderdale in the United States, in addition to a number of Canadian destinations.
If you have been affected by the cancellation of your flight, you will find further information on the airline's website at www.flyzoom.com. That website again is www.flyzoom.com, and should be your first point of reference for information. The Embassy can neither refund your money, book you on another flight, nor compel another airline to honor your reservations on Zoom.
Zoom recommends that passengers who already have booked and paid for flights contact their credit or debit card companies for a refund. Zoom also advises that both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have indicated they will offer special rates to customers affected by Zoom's grounding. For more information, see their websites at www.ba.com and www.virgin-atlantic.com .
If this information is not of assistance to you, you may email the Embassy at SCSLondon@state.gov .
