Role of the Embassy
The Immigrant Visa Unit at this Embassy conducts the final processing of immigrant visa applications processed through the National Visa Center for residents of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Embassy also processes the immigrant visa applications of beneficiaries of immediate relative petitions filed with the Department of Homeland Security (Immigration) in London.
Applicants who reside outside the United Kingdom should contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate having jurisdiction over their place of residence for further information.
Applicants who are physically present in the United States when the petition is approved, should contact the
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services having jurisdiction over their residence for further information.
On conclusion of the processing of the visa application, applicants will be scheduled for an interview at the Embassy in London and provided with instructions on scheduling a medical examination.
