All nonimmigrant visa applicants, even babies and children listed in parents passports, are required to pay a MRV application fee of $131.00. Payment is made by credit or debit card at the time of scheduling the nonimmigrant visa interview with the Operator Assisted Information Service.
Before calling to schedule the appointment you should ensure that you have your credit or debit card details available. The Operator Assisted Information Service accepts the following credit or debit cards - Visa, MasterCard and American Express; they do not accept Visa Electron or Maestro cards.
A third party may call on your behalf. If this is the case, he or she must be able to provide the operator with the following information:
Your name & address
Place & date of birth
Passport nationality & number
An email address. The appointment letter and receipt for payment of the MRV application fee are sent by email
Informaton on the type of visa for which you are applying. They must also be able to confirm to the operator that you are in possession of the documents required to apply for the visa; i.e. an I-20, DS-2019, I-797A or B
On confirmation that your credit or debit card has been accepted, the operator will schedule the appointment. Confirmation of the appointment date and time will be sent by email together with a receipt for the MRV application fee. You will be required to present the Nonimmigrant Visa Interview Confirmation letter and copy of the MRV fee receipt on the day of the interview. Failure to do so will result in the cancelation of the appointment.
Important Notice:The MRV application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. There will be no refund of the fee, regardless of whether the visa is ultimatley issued or refused. There will also be no refund of the fee if you schedule an appointment, cancel and do not reschedule within 12 months.
The receipt is valid for one visa application within twelve months of the date of payment. If you are unable to attend the interview you may reschedule an appointment for any time within that 12 month period. The receipt is not valid for use by a third party.
