UK Entry Requirements

We are contacted daily by American citizens who have been refused entry into the United Kingdom, many of them because they did not acquire the appropriate entry clearance before traveling.  Please make sure that you are not one of them and that you are familiar with U.K. entry requirements before your visit.

Entry requirements for the United Kingdom fall solely within the jurisdiction of the UK Border Agency.  If you are traveling to the United Kingdom for the Olympic Games please visit the UK Border Agency website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk where you will find information not only for spectators, but also athletes, coaches, officials and accredited media.  The website also provides information on items that may brought into the United Kingdom and the steps that must be taken when leaving the country.

Of interest to Games Family members (athletes, coaches, officials and accredited media) are the sections on enrolling biometrics ahead of arrival in the United Kingdom and accreditation.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the entry requirements before your visit to avoid the disappointment and inconvenience of being denied entry into the country.
