Ambassador Tuttle opens the U.S. Pavilion at DSEi 2007

On September 11 Ambassador Tuttle opened the U.S. Pavilion at Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi), one of the world's leading trade events for the defense industry.

DSEi featured almost 1,100 exhibitors and attracted more than 25,000 visitors, including numerous senior government and military delegations from around the globe.

American companies were prominent at the show, with more than 80 defense and security companies of all sizes featured in the U.S. Pavilion organized by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).

Ambassador Tuttle talked of the remarkable work U.S. companies are doing to develop new equipment to meet the challenges faced by U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He later met Brigadier General Mark Brown of the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office Soldier, exhibiting at DSEi for the first time.

During his tour of the U.S. Pavilion, Ambassador Tuttle was also introduced to several U.S. firms enjoying success in the UK market, including Northrop Grumman, Oshkosh, and Force Protection.

Ambassador Tuttle was accompanied by LTG (Ret'd) Roger Thompson of the AUSA; Mr. Dean Popps, Principal Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics; and U.S. Defense Attaché Rear Admiral Ronald Henderson.
