UK Company is Finalist in U.S. Government's Security Competition

A British company -- Auretix -- is among the finalists in a U.S. Government-sponsored technology competition to be decided in London.

The Technology Support Working Group, a technology coordinating organization co-chaired by the U.S. Departments of State and Defense, will announce the winner of the Global Security Challenge (GSC) and its accompanying award of a $500,000 research grant on November 8 in London.

The Challenge is a competition to identify and recognize a start-up technology company with innovative ideas in the fields of national security research and development and science and technology.

The five finalists in the Challenge are Auretix (UK), Eyemarker (USA), NoblePeak Vision (USA), Psyclock (Germany), and XID Technology (Singapore).

The annual competition is managed by MBA students at London Business School and several partner organizations in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States.
The Challenge founders have experience in the security technology sector with the U.S. National Security Council (NSC), IBM, and Sagem Défense Sécurité.

The GSC mission is to stimulate technological innovations that make airports, cities and enterprises safer without encroaching on civil liberties.

More information about GSC can be found at: http://www.globalsecuritychallenge.com .
