Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

General Information

We provide over-the-counter assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. We can assist with notices, forms, ITIN applications and answer questions to facilitate return preparation. All payments must be made by check, in U.S. dollars.   Please note:  Per the Embassy's security office, mobile phones and electronic devices (e.g., laptops, Blackberries, iPods, PDAs, etc.) are not allowed within the Embassy.  Visitors will be asked to temporarily store such devices at nearby locations (at a cost) before going through airport style security in order to enter the Embassy.  There are no storage facilities on Embassy grounds.  Visitors who do not follow these instructions will experience considerable delays at the security check point.

Our office has a limited range of 2012 forms and publications in stock, but they can also be downloaded from our website, at http://www.irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs. If you would like to receive forms by US mail, you can order them at http://www.irs.gov/uac/Forms-and-Publications-by-U.S.-Mail or by calling 1-267-941-1000.

NOTICE OF FURLOUGH - Due to sequestration, all IRS operations worldwide will be supended on the following dates in 2013: May 24th, June 14th, July 5th, July 22nd and August 30th. Therefore the Embassy IRS office will be closed on those dates for phone, walk-in and all other services. We will be open on all other dates for our usual services.
