American Visions Photo Contest

Visiting the United States in 2008?

We are looking for the best photos that make a statement about the people, values, society, culture, history or the geographic or ethnic diversity of the United States.

Submit a photo that captures what America means to you and you could win a prize.

The contest is open only to those who have received a United States visa from the United States Embassy in London or U.S. Consulate General in Belfast and have visited the United States during the contest period. The Contest runs until September 30, 2008.

How to Enter

• Submit up to three photos taken by you in the U.S. during the contest period.


• Include title and short description (50 words or less) for each photo saying what it represents for you about the United States or the American people.


• Send photo(s) of max 1 MB file size along with description(s), date and location of photo(s) and contact information to: CultureLondon@state.gov . Put “American Visions entry” in subject line. (for postal entry see Rules)

The winning photos will also be published in Essentially America magazine.
