Visit of President Bush to the United Kingdom June 2008
The Itinerary: June 15-16, 2008
President and Mrs. Bush visited Windsor, London and Belfast June 15-16 as part of a European tour focusing on the trans-Atlantic partnership and celebrating the enduring friendship between the U.S. and UK.
After arriving at Heathrow Airport, the President and Mrs. Bush had tea with the Queen at Windsor Castle and dinner with Prime Minister and Mrs. Brown at Number 10 Downing Street.
The following day, President Bush met with Prime Minister Brown for bilateral talks and a joint news conference at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The Bushes, accompanied by Ambassador Tuttle, then flew to Belfast to meet with Protestant and Catholic leaders of Northern Ireland’s power-sharing government.
Prior to their arrival in the UK, the Bushes visited Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Vatican City, and France on their European tour.
