They discussed several challenges currently facing the international community, including counterterrorism, non-proliferation, and global economic development.
The President commended the Prime Minister for maintaining positive growth in his country through the global downturn. The two leaders also discussed climate change and energy, and the President reiterated his commitment that the United States is ready to lead in reducing its carbon footprint. The two leaders agreed to work closely together to build on the U.S.-India strategic partnership.
