International Money Orders or Banker’s Drafts must be made payable in U.S. dollars to the "U.S. Disbursing Officer," and must have been issued within the last five months. Personal checks or cash cannot be accepted by the Consulate. International money orders in dollars are available from most banks or from American Express offices, but are not available on the same day and may take up to a few days to process.
