Ambassador and Mrs. Robert Tuttle host Iftar gathering at Winfield House

Ambassador and Mrs. Robert Tuttle hosted an iftar gathering at their Winfield House residence on October 17. Ambassador and Mrs. Tuttle were honored to receive over 100 guests for this traditional breaking of the fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Guests included the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain, ambassadors of majority Muslim countries, political and religious leaders and representatives of many British Muslim organizations. The Ambassador's welcoming remarks quoted President Bush's remarks from the White House iftar the previous evening: “America is a land of many faiths, and we welcome and honor the Muslim faith in our nation. Our society is enriched by our Muslim citizens.” Ambassador Tuttle welcomed the spirit of mutual understanding and unity fostered by such events. This is the sixth year that an iftar has been held at Winfield House.
