05 December 2006 NASA Astronauts Tour United Kingdom
Ambassador and Mrs. Tuttle hosted a reception on December 5 at Winfield House in honor of three visiting NASA astronauts who were crew members of the space shuttle Discovery STS-121 mission of July 2006. Pilot Mark Kelly, Mission Specialist Lisa Nowak and UK-born astronaut Piers Sellers had spent two weeks touring the UK speaking to students and other groups about manned spaceflight in cooperation with the UK National Space Centre. Guests at the reception included British scientists, government officials and journalists, as well as several top science students from secondary schools Ambassador Tuttle has visited.
