25 April 2007 Ambassador Inaugurates Exhibit at Unique American Museum
On April 24, Ambassador Robert H. Tuttle traveled to Bath to inaugurate the "American Heritage Exhibition" at the
American Museum in Britain, the only museum of its kind outside of the United States.
The new 3200-square foot exhibition space, paid for by the Heritage Lottery Fund and charitable donations, is the culmination of a major 18-month redevelopment and will be used to display materials on Native American and African American culture and history, as well as on immigration to America.

Founded in 1961 and housed in Claverton Manor in Bath, the museum highlights American history and decorative arts and welcomes 45,000 visitors each year. The museum includes 120 acres of grounds that include a replica of George Washington's Mount Vernon Garden, a colonial herb garden, a large arboretum of rare American trees and two walking trails.
