24 October 2007 Ambassador and Mrs Tuttle travel to Leicester

Ambassador and Mrs. Tuttle traveled to Leicester on October 24 as part of their ongoing outreach efforts in the UK. They met with the Lord Mayor, Councillor Gary G. Hunt, the Chief Executive of Leicester City Council Rodney Green and Deputy Lead of the County Council Councillor Mary Draycott.
They then traveled to Gurdwara Gur Panth Parkash, where they were honored guests at the Guru Nanak Annual Lecture event. The Ambassador spoke on the U.S. tradition of religious pluralism and diversity, on the Sikh community in the U.S., and on the role of faith communities.
The Ambassador and Mrs. Tuttle then traveled to Masjid Umar, where they met with mosque leaders before convening with a wider group of community leaders at St. Philip's Church for a discussion. At De Montfort University they toured the fine arts facilities, met with students of American and Political Studies, and spoke with representatives from the Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship, before the Ambassador gave the Distinguished Lecture Series lecture.
